If I lived there, I would. I can't stand to go to animal shelters, I want to bring them all home. Dog needs a loving home...

She looks like she has some serious emotional problems. Likely abused. Poor pup.

I got my BMC from a shelter. He looked pretty close to that. Took him home and just stayed real calm with him till he trusted me. Took about a month. He's the best dog I've ever known.

Friend of my daughter volunteers there and she knew our dog and sent her that pic and it's been killing me ever since. I can't take her, but if I can find the poor thing a home at least that's something.

These dogs are so smart and sensitive you just talk to them in a normal voice and they know what you're wanting. It's like they're psychic after awhile. They key off of you completely. If you're happy, they're happy. If you're alarmed, they're going into defense mode. If you are riding your four wheeler for miles with them eating your dust the whole way and you top a hill right on top of some deer and stop and are excited and they run up, see the deer, check you for energy level, they'll go cut you one out and bay it.

Just really amazing dogs.

Absolutely. Got my BMC from a shelter without knowing what he was. Took us a couple months to figure out exactly what he was but it didn't matter.

Has always been a little skittish since he was obviously a street dog (the shelter owner found him in a flowerbed extremely malnourished walking on the front of his paws), but has adjusted really well since then.

We were really scared that he wouldn't adjust to out newborn (2 months now) but he's nothing but loving towards her.

Please, please, please... Somebody consider taking this dog, it'll be the best dog you ever have. Intensely loyal...

Here's mine

Almost forgot.

We live in Hou, but when we go to BR my family has ~ 20 acres in Zachary and he has the time of his life out there. Will chase the 4-wheeler as long as can and run down to the beach on the Comite and just wade in the water happy as a clam.
Again, can't endorse this dog enough. She might be a little work, but with a little training she'll be the best dog you own...

I just can't do it right now. If someone takes this dog they are putting some serous bricks on their house in heaven. This is where good karma is made. Someone pull the trigger! Well, don't pull the trigger you bunch of twisted fricks, but yall know what I mean!

Here's a pic of my rescued BMC he was skin and bones when we brought him home.

Here he is thanking the kid for his Christmas bone.

This one was the first or second night we had him. You can see how emaciated he was.

Jesse plays with small dogs great. He also has his own cat. They get on the floor and the cat goes ape shite on his head. When he finally decides he's ready to win he carefully takes the cats head in his mouth and holds it down for a few seconds. Cat gets up, bops him on the nose, then they kinda lay down together and go to sleep or move on to do something else.

They're protective of YOUR stuff. That means whatever you're cool with, they'r cool with. But I'd be careful with a new one till you've got their trust. They can kill shite real quick when they want to. Jesse has a pure hate on for possums and armadillos. And rabbits and squirrels. They come in his yard, god have mercy on em because he won't.

As my endorsement of BMCs, I will say this. If you get that dog and let it bond with you and your family she will defend them to her death. I grew up with two of these dogs, both females, and they were the best family protective dogs I have ever seen.

I agree with that completely.

Nobody is coming in your/her yard that you haven't OK'd. Period.

And if she's inside and someone comes to the door that you don't know that's causing any kind of worry for whoever is opening the door, they better pray they aren't there to do evil because that dog is going right up their arse.

I've seen it with mine when the girls answered the door when they had a house full of little girls over for a sleepover so they were all in PJ's. Mostly strangers but they were cool with us so Jesse's cool with them and loving on all of them. One was left to come over but the pizza guy showed up first. I got there just in time for the girls to predictably open the door, freak the hell out at the large black guy they've never seen before, see Jesse's back go up like a Rhodesian ridgeback, do that seriously terrifying growl/bark as he moved to cut the dude off from coming in while the girls were running for it and then instantly chill when I moved up and told him to back off. He then moved behind me and stayed on alert but was not aggressive at all.

Pretty sure had I not been there and that guy had not almost pissed himself backing up and instead tried to come in, that dog would have sent him to the hospital or died trying.

Like I said, they go on your energy. And by you I mean your entire family. You leave them there alone, that dog has your back. You leave the dog there by itself, he's got your yard's back. But once he knows who's cool and who's not, it's fine. My neighbors love him because he also watches their yards as well if he doesn't know somebody even though he does it from my fence. Once they introduce him to someone, he doesn't bark at them anymore. It's really pretty amazing.

How long does she have to stay. I would take her but I couldn't pick her up til middle of next week. I am going to south Mississippi Sunday to pick my Ladner BMC up from Curtis. I would take another though since I am sure she is fixed.

Most BMC will be shy like because they are used to one owner.
