Just got this mount back, one of the first snows I've shot and was told it was a good one.

Trying to understand the snow goose phases and whether this is a true blue, or an intermediate...or maybe a juvenile??

I'm very happy with it, we call him Earl...just trying to understand the hierarchy and whether it's a really good specimen or just guide talk.

TIA

Ps the leg jewlery is an inside joke add on.

That is a lesser snow goose (e skycarpedus) in blue morph stage.

Eagle head is the final stage for a blue morph snow goose. They don’t turn all white

thx bro, yep thats what we call em too

I had always heard its almost like a molt, but been reading where its a gene and blues stay blue, white stay white save for juveniles of both which are brownish with brown bill

in between a true blue and a white are different variations of "intermediate"

Have never heard this before until now, figured some ol goose slaya's will learn me right
