Yea they're a great old school big hunting club. Many good times at that camp.

They took a hit on the expansion.

I wondered what the state paid an acre?

I don't remember. I don't think it was a whole lot per acre, but it was a whole lot of acres.

It was an all or nothing sale, which is why the state got all of it. Tons of people wanted parts, but nobody could afford the whole.

Anyone here hunted at Tatoons with ole poncho. Slayed some heads in that deep cypress. Dam I miss those days.

I don't remember the number. I think it's somewhere earlier in the thread.

Its wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more than the green jeans want to deal with though. So much of it is virtually inaccessible though because just to walk there and back would take an entire day.

I don't understand why the cash strapped and over stretched LAWLF doesn't lease some of the WMA lands. The lessees could help patrol the lands, itd relieve the current agents, it would generate revenue for WLF, and it would still preserve hunting lands for state citizens.

That's come up a few times.

IIRC, I was told that it can't happen because the state cannot legally lease property and that's why it hasn't gone any farther than that.
