any of you baws ever use them? they look like a knockoff of the 13 reels and are having a buy one get one free deal now. I've got a friend who has them and ive casted a few of his reels, but was just checking to see if the OB has experience with them

No experience with them. A guy I know is "sponsored" by them, but yall know how that goes.

They are the same company that makes Allen fly reels, and Allen is a really jam up company. Great customer service and a great product. Can't say enough good about them.

eta: it looks like they wised up and took the "RULE THE DEPTHS" off the side of the reels .

an actual sponsorship, or a discount on products so he has to post on facebook how he couldn't catch fish if he didn't use that reel?

just to let you know, the buy one get one free isn't exactly that.
It's buy the HYPERION and get a CRIUS free.

The Hyperion looks to me to be sort of in the same category as the Abu Revo Toro. Too big of a reel for casting to me.

I want a Concept C. I don't care how it performs, it'll match my white Costas perfectly.

did you fish the tournament this weekend? had two yaks pull up where we were hunting in leeville right before we filled out limit. told them to go flush up some ducks for us and we wouldn't run them out

reading about them, hyperion is heavier and has 12 ball bearings, crius is lighter and has 10.
crius has the same braking system as the hyperion

going to pass this on to wife for my birthday next month.
I always used the caenon and the h20 mettle when both go on sale as my throw away reels

I was about to say we would probably be bowfishing by then, but we were way out west by little lake and bayou blue, they had some big reds on the bank of the lake. didn't see many in the ponds at all.

they had a red bay boat anchored under the bridge in the west/east canal 3 days in a row in the same spot this weekend, so either he was catching or just dumb.

Right by the public launch? It's pretty deep there, paddling across it a few times and it always shows 40'+.

ETA: I did catch a bunch of school trout one night fishing those lights on the camp right across from the launch.

we caught by the liftboats moored up in the bayou not too long ago. it was cold so he was probably catching trout in that deep hole
also catch at night under the lights by bobby lynns
I hate that launch, but that's where my buddies wanted to launch since we were heading west so we didn't have to idle for 15 minutes in the bayou. the launch itself is too steep and then not steep enough once the trailer hits the water. someone needs to punch whoever designed it.

The last OB thread

It has a few reviews from people once they received them.

There will be 125 kayaks there for a shotgun launch on the 16th. It's a pretty big area though so it should be ok.
