I can't imagine that being a deal breaker. The rear doors of the GM more than make up for it on the double cab.

I'd laugh to no end if it's fixed with a swap in fluid.

Clames said not to do that.

Modern transmissions have much tighter components than older ones. I've heard from numerous people to leave the system closed and not do a fluid swap because it lessens the life considerably.

I'm trying to get rid of my double cab right now. It did the job it needed to do two years ago, but now its a PITA. i'll take the old suicide doors any day over these little things. Every time I try to take a car seat in or out, it's a fight trying to turn it sideways or upside down because of the door pillar.
frick those double cabs

No car seat here. I hated the old doors with a passion
.

Kid could not get out on his own. then there was the loading issues when someone parked close.

did not plan on a kid when I bought the truck, so this was fine for me... now that im dealing with an f16 sized car seat, I want to curb stomp a kitten for not spending a little extra for a crew

Yeah, crews are nice, but I need the 6'6" bed, and really don't need the extra space behind me.

I'd like to get the tune that lets me coast

Do a search on GM forums. There is a ton of info on Tunes for this truck. With 99.99% of people saying it fixes every little hiccup this truck has.

Ive been seriously considering it myself. Just dont know what one I want.

AlxTgr - Did you ever get this figured out with your truck? My 2016 has been doing it since new and I have almost 20k miles on it. Had the valve body and TCM replaced and it still does it.

Thanks

Those comments about it getting better were right. For me anyway. I don't notice it at all anymore.

What I feel when coasting to a stop is a bump or very firm downshift from 5-4, 4-3, 3-2, 2-1. Happens at approx. 38mph, 30mph, 20, and almost stopped. It hasn't gotten better in the 20k miles I've put on.

Does this sound normal?

I have a 2017 Tahoe that only does this when in tow mode. I don't mind it when towing the boat

Do the new trucks still have that AFM garbage?

The 2019's have done away with the traditional AFM that you are used to. Now they call it dynamic valve or something stupid like that... It will now go into any variation of cylinders from only using 1 to using all 8 and anything in between. I honestly dont know how I feel about it especially when they could never master the AFM V4 to V8 lifter issue.
