Any of you fellas happen to have or know someone who has a 2020 Silverado or Sierra with the Duramax 3.0 I6 engine?

Definitely thinking this will be my next truck after school with the Texas Edition package. The Silverados are cheaper with more incentives than the Sierra.

Why?

Diesel fuel is basically the same price as premium gas and the mileage isn’t better.

If you’re towing a lot, then, yeah, go for it. If not...

Buy a 3/4 ton diesel.

I'm definitely keeping the option of a 2500HD open. I just started looking online at vehicles.

Not true... the small diesels are getting quite a bit better than the V8s

The small diesel has quite a bit less towing capacity than the 6.2 L.

I’m looking at them also. I have a 2015 ram eco diesel for work right now. It’s 2wd. I get around 25mpg on my trip to GA. It gets around 20 in town. It’s been a good truck. Not much maintenance, but it’s getting close to 200K on mileage, so I’m just looking for something newer. I’m just nervous on the first year on anything.

Not when you add the cost of diesel over regular in that equation.

Not believing cost to own would Ever be less or even to a gas engine anymore.

Not to mention they generally only put the diesels in the high-end trim levels.

Nothing like bragging about saving money on gas while driving a $50k truck.

This is ridiculous.

Better do a little research on that new diesel, it's all aluminum block and heads. Aluminum has never fared well with a high compression diesel engine.

16,000 nite miles and my 3.5 is getting a tune that will be comparable in torque for $400. 91 octane should get me the same mileage per tune guy.
Have not run numbers on efficiency but it will be quick.

Know that the 1500 with DMAX does not come with the Allison transmission

I have a Canyon with the 2.8L. I average about 27 on the highway. Sure it will be a little less in a 1500. I don't care about mileage I like a diesel.

I downsized from a 2500 and after a year I am going back to a 3/4t. Will be swapping in February. I just need the room. When I head to Alabama hunting my truck is full.
