Nah Goat I knew you knew.
RBW it's really just a matter of scale. If you don't need super accuracy on some rifles it's probably not too noticeable. Best thing is to be happy with it and confident so if you've got that, you're good to geaux. I'm mostly talking hole punching rifles. Been kind of obsessed with that for the last few months.
But don't rest the gun on the barrel. Too much pressure on it. You could tighten your group up a LOT by resting it on the stock.
Think of it like this. That barrel has a harmonic spot it can consistently hit if it's suspended from one point. When it goes off, that happens. Now if you were hanging that barrel from something and tapped it with a small hammer, it would make a tone, right? What happens when you reach over and touch the barrel then? The tone changes or it kills it.
That barrel does that every time you shoot it. If you have it free floating, it will hit that same tone every time. Same movement. Same flex. No outside interference. The bullet will leave the barrel from the same spot every time as a result. Or relatively so. Increased accuracy.

Suprisingly, my Savage .270 came with a cheaper Simmons scope on it (package deal) bore sighted out the box. I haven't had to adjust it a click in 6 years. My brother got a Savage .270 the next year, but it was a little different model, no accutrigger and a detachable mag, but the same scope on top again, bore sighted out the box. I've had to adjust that one at least 3 times already. Funny how that goes. I'd like to get some nicer glass eventually but I almost don't wanna eff with it
