Carson – you are not a fan of hevimetal? I tried a box on a few years back just out of curiosity and was really impressed with it on late season divers and mallards that are tough. It also works well on canadas, I really find it reduces the number of cripples compared to other 1500FPS shells. Now will I pay full price ..... probably not but when retailers have it on sale and hevi shot offer a rebate I get a flat or 2.

Hevi Metal's are great. A friend of mine gave me a case last year and I was impressed. I still went back to Blue Boxes when I ran out of the Hevi Metal's.

Fasteel is the only thing I shoot. My gun (SBEII) loves them and it can be had for a great price.

Black Cloud is on sale at Rogers for $129/case after $50 mail in rebate
Hevi Steel is on sale at Macks PW for $129/case.
Do better pricing research
If you have a stock choke, I'd take advantage of the above sale on Black Cloud.
If you have a higher tier aftermarket choke in your gun I would go with Hevi Steel or Federals (blue box). My patternmaster recommends I don't shoot any shells with Flite Control Wad technology (Black Cloud, Hypersonics, etc.).
FWIW - I shoot Hevi Steel, Blue box federals and Kent. Just depends which box I grab when I reach in the closet.
ETA: Only gripe I have about Hevi Steel is you cant get them wet. I've had plenty of them go off as duds from just a little water.
Also: Spend the money up front on a good choke and buy cheaper shells. It does the same thing and you will save money on shells over time.
