not really sure why they made this either. I have an LC9 and was thinking of getting the LCP for summertime carry. Really wish GLOCK would make a .380 for the US market.

If you watch the video, the Ruger rep says it's mostly for womenz so they have more to hold on to and the recoil is lighter. The only reason the LCP has so much recoil is because it's so small. With a larger frame, recoil will be lessened.

No idea why they would make this gun. The reason people go with the 380 is due to its small size. Not because they love the caliber.
