Sheath over cables on boat lift?
Looking to put some kind of a sleeve over the cables on my boat lift. Looking around online and I see where people have used pool noodles, pvc pipes, etc. Wanted to see if anyone has a good suggestion on here

You can use an old garden hose

That’s actually a really good idea. Do you clamp the ends at all, or simply leave them open on either side so that the cable runs through them?

I’d leave it open.

What do you use to stitch it back together after cutting down the length of the hose?

Use Kevlar ropes and you won’t need to cover them.

2 inch pvc black plastic pipe on mine. Wouldn’t want to take things apart to do it though. Mine were assembled like that from the get go.

Most hardware stores sell clear tubing. That's what's on mine, but they put on there when it was assembled. Might have to look at a few stores to get the exact diameter that you want.

Seems if it fit nicely, you could probably split it down the sides and maybe put a few zip ties on it and be good.

Being clear might be better to help you keep an eye on any rust issues.

It does feel nicer when you use it as a grab rail to get out of the boat when fetching another beer.

Id go to McMaster carr and order the exact ID size you need.

They also make clear wraps as well
