Sharpening Magnacut blade

I have a Benchmade Osbourne and really like it as an EDC. The only think that doesn’t exceed expectations is the blade retention.
I guess with all the hype around Magnacut I oversold myself on blade retention.
I use one of the manual precision adjust work sharp sharpeners where you can set the blade angle. Mine is set about 21 degrees. Hair-popping sharp when I’m done.
Do I just need to adjust my expectations of an EDC blade holding its sharpness longer than 3 months, change the angle, or something else?

I have a rat 1.5 in Magnacut. I keep a strop handy and after I use it a couple of times I'll touch it up on the strop while I'm watching TV. I haven't put a stone on it in a couple of months and it'll still take hair off. Takes about a minute.
Probably. I had a Spyderco with Maxemet steel and it never kept an edge as long as I hoped for, either. The only knife that exceeded my expectations is a Benchmade Hidden Canyon with S90V steel. I can skin a deer and it'll still shave after. I still strop it after use, though. I can go a long time without having to get my sharpener out just by taking a minute to strop.

You go 3 months without any maintenance?

I did this with a MKC knife. I had a relative tell me the clean 3-4 deer a year then send it off to get sharpened and it was great. I get through the first deer, didn’t hone it and the second felt like I was using a butter knife.
They just released a field boning knife, and the whole selling point is that your caping knife will be dull by the time you cape the animal… kind of hard to justify paying $300+ for a knife if it can’t even get through 1 animal without needing to maintenance the blade.
