U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke today announced $1.1 billion in annual funding for state wildlife agencies from revenues generated by the Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration and Dingell-Johnson Sport Fish Restoration acts. State-by-state listings of the final Fiscal year 2017 apportionments of Wildlife Restoration Program fund can be found here and the Sport Fish Restoration Program fund here.

quote:

“For nearly eight decades, the nation’s hunters and anglers have generated billions of dollars to protect wildlife and habitat simply by purchasing items that help them engage in the outdoor activities they enjoy,” Zinke said. “Their support has helped state wildlife agencies protect our country’s environmental legacy for future generations of hunters, fishers, recreationalists, and conservationists.”

You can trust JBE to personally handle the disbursement of additional federal funds, because Honor Code.

I was mostly being facetious. It's great that the current federal admin hasn't tried to go after these funds in some way, but this is included in the federal funding that LDWF has been receiving for a long time. The link above will show you the allocations going back to 2007. It's increased a good bit over the years but for the last several its been steady at around 15M for LA, and that only represents about 7% of LDWF operating budget.

he's been licking his chops since he got into office...his first choice was a bit much...time will tell if the second appointment handles JBE's agenda for JBE or for Louisiana outdoors...

He can go ahead and get himself in trouble with the feds if he touches that money. Federal law dictates what this allocation can be used on.

He better have one hell of am accountant if he wants to touch this allocation and not get busted.

Thank goodness for dedicated funds like Pittman-Robertson and Dingell-Johnson.

Hey brother easy. POS Jindal raided every fricking wildlife fund in the state. If he had a big bonfire with the money he could not be worse.

Remember this when your liberal friends say we should hurt animals. We pay our own way
