Where would the Leica Amplus 6 land in comparison to midrange Zeiss, Swarovski, etc.?

EuroOptic is running a smoking hot deal on them, and on Sako S20’s.

Seems like you could get into a bad arse setup for less that $2500, unless I’m missing something?

I doubt anything will be better than a Leica.

I love my Leica Duovid 8x56 binos, incredible glass. Only knock on Leica their CS sucks and you're gonna fight tooth and nails to get repairs done if your schit breaks. Zeiss and Swaro are much more customer friendly when it comes to service work.

I was a surveyor and my company was purchasing about 80 grand worth of Leica surveying equipment. I tried getting the salesman to throw in a scope or binoculars as lagniappe. That fricker wouldn't budge. He kept telling me that it was a different company.

I can tell you Leica glass is top of the line.

Thats knocking on nightforce pricing. Im sure the glass is great, but how reliable is the scope?

Remember, its a gun sight and not an observation tool.

Nah, I’m talking $2500 for gun and scope combined. The scope is in the close out section on EuroOptic for $919.99, regularly $1599.99… So 920 for scope, then they have Sako S20 7mm Mag’s for $1300… So, less than $2500 after taxes and buying scope mounts.

I researched the Amplus quite a bit but ended up getting the Swaro Z5 instead. I also read the Leica CS is not great. The Swaro was much lighter also. You can call Sports Optics and ask for a discount. Beat any price on the web. I think Long range hunting and Rokslide had a few threads on the Amplus if you want to research more. Im sure it is a great scope.

Leica weight is concerning. Already have a BAR with an old Zeiss Conquest 3-12x56. It’s awesome for box stand hunting with shots under 250 yards, but it’s kind of a bitch to carry to the stand.

Trying to build a lighter weight gun that will be accurate out to 400-600 yards on some of our farmland.
