we average 19 admits in a 6a-6a shift. 8 of those are unassigned and usually unfunded. and when I am on I get the OB and peds too.
So that 39 would be a little less than average.

That's rough. Main reason I quit OB is the extra call. Not to mention all the unfunded ones. Call is the dirty secret no one wants to mention when they are bad mouthing doctors. No pay and tons of work.
