side question: im from around cenla, grant parish and we yo-yo in iatt lake..i talk to a lot of people down here from livonia all the way to avondale (close to new orleans) and when i talk about yo-yoing they have this strange look on their face like wtf is yo-yoing...does anyone else here yo-yo in the winter months for white perch??

I think black bream is more fitting.

How is black bream a more fitting name than black crappie for this?

slabs"...

refers to the size, not the species. A slab is a large white perch.

I love to run yo-yos. It's a great way to get drunk and fish all night.

there are so many people down this way that dont have a clue what yo-yoing is...they end up asking dumb questions like what do you do put it on your finger?? and then laugh..that just makes them look more ignorant..i try to explain but i dont think it computes..

Central and south FL they called them specs. You could catch hundreds wading at night with cane poles and a coleman lantern in lake Okeechobee.

Oh hell yes.

Nothing better than camping out on a slough drinking beer or whiskey by the fire, and going to run yo yos every hour

he's absolutely right though, i've heard of it but never actually seen anyone do it down here, i'd think you'd catch a lot of unwanted crap on em before you caught SACALAIT

Had a drunken night on Smith's Bay where I could hear the yoyo go off before we got 5' away from the bush. Eventually had to quit due to cold and possible pass outs.
