That's gonna come down to personal preference. Besides being 22s, they are pretty different. Can't go wrong with either.

I cannot imagine choosing between those two. So different. If you want fun to shoot plus hunting and accessories, the 10/22 wins. If you just like the idea of a lever, the Henry.

I don't have a lever action .22 but do have a 10/22 and love it. I put a new barrel and new stock on mine. I'll eventually replace that barrel and get a new trigger and possibly new bolt.

I have a Henry lever action and a Winchester lever action. I like the Winchester much better. I also have a tricked out 10/22 with aftermarket barrel, stock, trigger, etc. like I said, can't go wrong with either.

Thanks fellas. I know theyre very different. I like the henry because of the simple and old lever action design. but i also like the 10/22 because of the custom options and its practicality. They both seem like awesome guns tho. Thanks again.

Put your hands on a Winchester before buying that Henry.

I have both. My 1022 is a better shooting gun but the Henry is better looking.
For the money I say go with the Ruger.

Like everyone else said, they're way different guns. The 10/22 is probably a little better made, but the Henry can shoot shorts and any of those other goofy .22 loads.
The 10/22 wins for gun customization, the Henry wins for ammo flexibility.

Henry golden boy is just a beautiful gun something that I can see as being handed down from generation to generation.
I have a 10/22 but are really a dime a dozen I have a couple and they are great guns. There really isn't a bad choice here.
Also the Henry 22 mag pump is a slick little gun as well

Don't limit yourself to just Ruger and Henry. There are plenty of other great .22s. The 10/22 is one of the cheapest stock guns on the market. Browning makes some of the best semi auto, bolt and lever action .22s.

This about nails it.
The aftermarket for 10/22s is huge.
The Henry Golden Boy is a work of art. If I were to get a lever 22 (who am I kidding, I will one day) it would be a Henry. They're just beautiful and I like the history behind them.
Check out this video of Hickok45 shooting 22 shorts out of the Golden Boy. It sounds like a cap gun.

Browning has the prettiest stocks, but they cost.

Buddy of mine had one when we were growing up. Good little guns.
