Rim/Tire question

My OEM rim i know can get buy being installed on a 35x12.5 tire even though it may not be specs on book. My question is, is it any more different going to a 37x12.5 tire vs 35x12.5 tire when they are same width?

It can be mounted on the rim. If you are not running a lift it will rub on the fender wells

I've run a 37x12.5 on stock rims on several vehicles and haven't had a single problem.. Width is width..

Running a 12.5” tire on an OEM wheel (probably 8”-9” wheel) is done a lot but if you don’t have proper backspacing on OEM wheels you will almost always rub. Rubbing on fenders is one thing but you will also rub on control arms/tie rods etc on the inner side of the tire. Not sure what you drive but a 37” tire will require lift and proper backspacing to run.

Could you squeeze a 37 under a 2015 f250 with just a level?

Yes. I had them on my 12' with just a 2.5" level and have a 4" on my 17' and they fit. You may get a little scrub at full lock and have to run a 12.5 unless you get spacers but it's not enough to worry about really..

i'm getting 35" if i do the 2.5" level w/ 1"block in rear.
i'm getting 37" if i do the 4.5" lift.
regardless of what i do, i don't want to add new rims to my cost at this time.

I don’t know what your lift and tire combo will bring you, but the large backspacing of my oem rim made my tire rub my control arm and sway bar.

Wicked Customs w/fox 2.0 shocks.. Check and see how much rake you have before you install the block in the rear.. The 17' 250's have 3.5" of rake, so I did the 4" with no block in the rear and it sits pretty damn close to perfect with no lean.

Been going back and forth between a 35 or trying to get into a 37. If I can do it with just the level I may go 37. Your truck looks great. Thanks.

I leveled my Ram out to start with bilstein coil overs I tried to run a 12.5” wide on my factory wheels and would have had to add spacers to prevent it from rubbing on the edges of the control arms. It all depends on OEM offset some are better suited to run wider tires. My factory offset was +19, I ended up going with a 0 offset wheel and I have room to run 35/37 with only about an inch outside the fender.
