I recently bought a Nikon scope from a buddy for very cheap. He gave me a friendly discount.

The scope has a custom turret on it made for a 257 weatherby.

I was wanting to put it on my fiances 6.5 creedmore.

Anyone know if i could sight this gun in with the turret on that scope or would i need to buy a new custom turret for the 6.5 through nikon?

You should be fine to sight it in. The only thing that I imagine would not be exactly accurate is if you were firing at long ranges using the turret adjustments. If you wanted to do that you'd probably be wise to buy the matched turret for your caliber.

In reality though, it will shoot just fine for most general applications like hunting and plinking.

You will be fine. If you want then custom for your gun, contact nikon to see if they still do it. But you'll be able to sight it in and it'll do just fine as is

You will need to know what the clicks represent and then makes adjustments based on that either (mil/moa) and disregard the yardages marked on the turret.

Here is a place that will make a label to put on the turret.

If you just want to set it and forget it you'll be fine, but dialing will be tough at best. In addition to the sticker posted already, you can also get custom turrets for nikon scopes from Kenton industries.

Sighting it in will be no different whatsoever.

The only issues you run run into is if you are shooting the gun from 250yds and out.

From there you would not be able to use the preset numbers on the turret.
From 250 out you will need to know if the scope is MRAD or MOA. In MRAD, 6.5cm has ~ 3.5 MRAD drop at 600yds.

The .257 wby is a much flatter shooting cartridge.
