"How do you repair a cracked upper receiver that came from twisting on the end of the barrel?"


Seriously, you either need to clamp the barrel in a vise (with the appropriate barrel blocks) or put the receiver in an action block. The AR rifle upper is aluminum and isn't designed to withstand the stresses associated with twisting on the barrel way out at the muzzle. You can crack the upper where the index pin mates with the slot in the upper. Ask me how I know.

Removed mine 2 days ago. Take a section of bicycle inner tube, wrap around barrel twice, to protect barrel finish. Clamp, really CLAMP, on Vice grips on barrel, close to the hider. Put Vice grip handle in Bench Vice. Remove with 3/4" wrench.

If you think the device was installed with Rocksett, try soaking in water for a few hours or overnight first. Lots of info on the net about this.
