There is no feasible way police any harvest regulation by shear lack of green jeans.

Good idea would be to shut down processors if they do not have the customers tag information on the paper work. Would help wardens patrol larger areas quicker.

t doesn’t matter if you agree, White Bear. The deer belong to the state.
The state has jack shite to do with managing the local (to my area) deer herd.

Edit: Why downvote when I’m telling the truth?

I hunt from sw la to ne la, also s Texas and the mid west. the one thing I have noticed everywhere In Louisiana that I hunt is there is never a shortage of deer. That being said in order to determine how to regulate, it must first be determined what the goal is

Due to market hunters?

No. Due to the fact there was a Great Depression going on and people needed something to eat.

None required my man. I’m just enjoying the debate. Believe it or not, there’s a ton of outdoors experience here. Lots of veteran hunters who have seen lots of changes.

And even though I’m old as dirt, I still learn from what people bring to these discussions and like hearing their ideas and opinions.

There’s a high demand in Louisiana for a quality deer hunting experience. Evidence of this is the popularity of Tensas NWR hunts and also the number of Louisiana residents hunting in Texas, Mississippi, and Arkansas. Add the that, the Louisiana residents who annually hunt the Midwest, and the picture is clear. These sportsmen are willing to travel and spend money for a quality whitetail experience that is seldom available in their home state. Antler restrictions aren’t a problem when they go to their lease in Mississippi. Passing young bucks is no problem on a trip to Texas or Kansas. But back home in Louisiana, deer hunting sinks to the lowest level in America. I’m all for filling a freezer. But why fill three freezers and giving up a chance for a quality hunting experience right here at home? And if filling the freezer is such a high priority, why not fill it with a 200 lb buck and three does? Is that less meat than two 140 lb bucks?

Piney woods, which encompasses a large percentage of our deer habitat, doesn’t grow 200 lb.deer.I don’t care how old the bucks gets.
