i believe that the green jeans will give you a free pass if you are further out than the 10 miles.....just waiting on phone call verification. this will NOT be official by any means, but there are many ports like cypremort point where you HAVE to go past ten miles to get snappers.

There will be some battles at the rigs. Who came up with this genius plan?
It's a lot better plan than what we currently have

This is true. I misinterpreted the ruling. The fed season is still in play 27 days 2 per person...if they don't cut it down to one.

Who is going to enforce this if you go past 10 miles? Also does this open up redfish fishing to areas within 10 miles too?

for all that complained consider yourselves extremely lucky.
Alabama doesn't have a state season, just the 3 weeks of the federal season.

the state ldwf is also federally commissioned. they may choose to enforce this.....but i have often seen when they will not mess with certain dumb fed regs. it all depends on which politician is out there catching snappers past 10 miles. these are state employees and def are influenced by politics

However, his agency warned fishermen to “use caution and their own personal judgment when fishing beyond the three-mile boundary that is currently recognized as federal waters, as it is fully expected that federal agents will continue to enforce federal law.”
So we passed a law that really doesn't matter
