So I bought me a Carolina 16 JVX this weekend at the Gulfport boat show. I live in Houma now and trying to gradually get familiar with fishing in and immediately around. Any pointers on where to launch and head to for specks and reds? I grew up fishing for them in MS but not too familiar with this area and best methods.

Jugs in Dularge. Hit Lake Mechant and also everywhere heading out to the Gulf.

Or Pointe Aux Chenes(one of my favorite yakin places)

yea there is. I've really caught reds anywhere I've tried really. Mainly during the summer.

Gas prices mainly! Just the cost of offshore fishing has gone up so much since I had my Makos. Plus this boat will be perfect for getting my young sons more involved in fishing.

Actually looked at the Mako Skiff but for the same cost it didnt compare imo.
