I have a shimano curado dc 150 and i just cant make myself like it.
Its big and bulky in the hand. It casts fine but not any better than my other reels in that price range (daiwa mangetsu, shimano bantam, even curado mgl 70 or 150). I never want to fish with it. Sometimes I use it because it is a low gear ratio and I like that for chatterbaits, but I dont like it.
I should probably sell it or give it away to a kid getting into fishing.

May be hard to find a good one in a 6:1. The min on most nowadays is 7:1. What are you using it for to need a slower reel like that?
The best reel I’ve ever used is my Shimano Metanium 150b.
If you want something that is backlash proof, performs flawlessly, and doesn’t break the bank, check out the Shimano SLX DC XT. It is a JDM reel so you have to order it online from Japan.
The one bit of advice I absolutely recommend is to check out the reels on the Japanese Domestic Market before buying anything American. Will save you over $100 on your higher end equipment purchases. These sites are where I buy from:
Digitaka.com
Japanlureshop.com

Yes. I have a lot of Zillions and Steez models.
Like others are saying, buy from Digitaka or JLS. No sense in paying the US prices.

If it were me, I'd fill my needs today just from the latest listings on bass boat central. Some with the lower retrieve too.

I just picked up three Bates EDC 100 reels last week and man these are probably the best reels I've ever casted or held in my hand. Superlight, ergonomical fit for my hand, and casts a country mile.

Would really like to see one of those.

Bates is re-badged Loongze reels from China.
They have made a lot of noise parroting the "Designed in the USA" lie. But at the end of the day, they are Loongze reels and the Bates Hundo LTS is a Loongze Uranus A101. The other Bates reels are other copies.
