Im going to spray Kilz over the entire camp to prevent future molding issues... Doing that with the spray insulation, it should help a good bit one would think....

I am not sure may do it myself if it can be confirmed it will help. You are talking about spraying it on the actual frame right?

Where in Dulac are you? You had just tin screwed to decking and it all stayed?

Steel roof panels screwed to roof decking plywood. SC. We have the strips on the decking that allow a little ventilation but the screws are long enough to go through the strips into the plywood.

I saw a new camp right on shrimpers row that had simply put boards so many feet a part on their rafters and screwed their steal panels on that. They lost a lot of the panels. My roof is completely decked with plywood over the rafters and then the steel is screwed into that.

I do not have foam insulation on my camp but do on commercial metal buildings I own. If I ever build a new camp or remodel the one I have I will spray in foam.

You can buy do it yourself kits.

Yes, my camp is a mobile home and I have it stripped down to the studs and outer plywood. I was thinking of spraying kilz on the exterior walls and studs then coming back with that insulation. That would be covered in paneling.

Side note, I just scored 40 sheets of 5/8 CDX plywood for $27 a sheet.

Just built a 24’ x 32’ wood frame and metal outside fish camp in Venice. The bubble wrap is not enough in the summer but add pink stuff and works great. This was the cheapest route we could go knowing the risk we take for having a South Louisiana Camp. If your flooring and pilings are still good then sounds like your best bet is a single slope roof being the cheapest. If your willing to spend more then go with a drivable location. It sucks hauling all the materials. I just could not afford the on the water that I like and drivable. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.

Good to know, the only thing that worries me is the pick stuff getting wet. i hear once it gets wet its not good any more. but, theoretically it shouldn't get wet.

The water front lots are expensive. Getting a long term lease would be the cheapest route on land.

The more i talk with my brother and dad, the more it sounds like we will re-build in the marsh.

With your isolated marsh location, do you have problems with unwanted visitors and missing shite?
