Good news is that I am absolutely capable to do the work and do it right. I rigged all the new electronics on it and it's yacht quality. So, I guess I know what I'll be up to the next few months- I'm gonna pull all the plumbing out.
Once you've stripped and degreased the bilge, take the opportunity to apply Interlux Bilgekote. Just make sure you apply two coats worth. Great product, I've done this on my previous two rebuilds, it will come out looking better than new!

I have the same issue. I have tons of rat poison plus sticky traps and traditional traps all over the boat house.

Had a problem with rodents on outdoor equipment. I started using this spray, even inside engine compartment and haven't had a problem since.

Wanted to bump this for the peppermint.
I work in Ag. and this is why I'm so pissed that rodent damage isn't covered on the insurance- we get rodent damage all the time on combines and the physical damage insurance covers it.
Anyhow- I worked with a guy who is a peppermint farmer (no joke) in Indiana. He taught me that the peppermint burns their nostrils and absolutely keeps them away.

I've had good luck using it but you have to be vigilant on reapplying before the scent wears out. The first year you'll be on it like sonic but eventually you probably will forget and have to be reminded by new damage at some point.
Still it's one of the best options if one cant store boat in tight building or otherwise seal them out.
