Am I the only dummy who didn’t realize that the East Zone reopens on Saturday? In the past, haven’t all zones reopened on the same weekend?

Not that it really matters. I drove I-49 all the way home from Lafayette today and only saw one group of ducks in the fields. Anyone else seeing birds?

I also recall a time when 2 of the zones opened on the same day. Now all 3 have different openers. Looks like they set them all up to close as close to the end of January as possible. East and West both close the last Sunday of January.

Doesn't matter for me anyway. Sherburne and Thistlethwaite are closed to waterfowl hunting until the 16th because of the either-sex gun hunt.

Also remember specks are closed until December 21 statewide. These seasons are all jacked up this year.

they are constantly changing the opening dates and making all these 'zones' in a effort for ladwf to write more tickets. it ain't like we get ducks anymore.
