My home office is on the second floor near a window, I've seen a good bit of wasp activity, so I open up the windows and have seen, many times, them going into the eaves. There is absolutely no way to get up there short of cutting a hole in the sheetrock, because the roof line contacts the walls on all 4 sides. They aren't really bothering me because their entrance hole is pretty out of the way, but I just am wondering if they could be doing damage from the other side to something. Any thoughts? My only idea would be pulling out one of the can lights and putting some kind of bug bomb up there.

Very doubtful. They just build a paper nest like the other type of red/paper wasp.

See if you can get a straw to fit in the opening of a wasp spray bottle and climb up there at night.

Take the stuff you really like most and put it in your shed, make sure wife and kids are not inside, and strike a few matches.

It is doubtful they are doing any damage. Wouldn't be surprised if a couple of them find a way into the house at some point. I have been spraying the eaves with Talstar P once a month since February and that has helped a lot. Got stung behind the ear a couple of years ago and have been on a personal jihad to destroy every wasp since. Do me a favor and kill those little bastards!

Can you get to the entrance hole with a ladder? I would squirt insecticide right into it and then seal it.

Well it’s that vinyl soffit stuff so there’s no easy way to seal it. And I think they’re deep in the attic because when I see one going in I’ve banged on the soffit with a broom to see if they come and nothing. This leads me to believe they’re far back and the banging is not riling them up.

I'd put some foil tape over the access hole for a few weeks and be done with it. They need water just like us. Doubt dead wasps can stink a place up?
