Power Spotlight for Boat - Christmas Gift Help

My FiL has a spotlight on his boat that isn't really doing the trick anymore for him when it comes to helping him find his dock at night/dusk.
I was thinking for Christmas I could get him some sort of mega powerful one that he can keep on his boat to use...only problem is I don't know anything about boats or spotlights and what he can and can't simply keep on the boat to use the few times he needs it a month...any help OB?!

Dewalt lithium battery powered thing is amazingly light and bright

That ryobi or dewalt battery operated light would wear you out! I like having a good spotlight, but some of these new flashlights seem like they put out as much light as some of the older spotlights. And half the weight.

I had a GoLight remote spotlight on my last boat. It was a good light. I had the hard mounted one. They make one that plugs into the front light socket. Heard good things about them also.

The new MAKITA spotlight. Illuminates our to 700 yards. Has a floodlight, spotlight, and strobe feature. It’s the best on the market in my opinion. Stine Lumber has them.

I went out fishing with a neighbor a few weeks back. We left in the dark and he had the light shown in the link. The spot was incredible, he would shine the light on the bank ahead of the boat. We could easily see 150-200 yards or more ahead of the boat.
We used it for at least 40 minutes until we were able to see with natural light and it appeared to me there was no loss of brightness.

Milwaukee also makes pretty much the same light if you already have other Milwaukee products.

honestly the newer headlamps are all you need, they’ve gotten much brighter and you can maneuver without tying up one of your hands and/or fumbiling around for it in the dark
