Update on your installation?
I have a 22' NauticStar also, with a PP. The PP is mounted on a bracket that is installed between the motor and the transom. The bracket is about 1/2" thick.
PP has the best customer service of any company I know of.
So far, they have warranted (without me even asking), a complete bolt kit, a new fiberglass pole, and as of last week, an entire unit minus the hydraulics. I'm planning to install the new unit this weekend.
Good luck with your install and enjoy your anchor. IMO, the PP is the priceless if you fish water shallow enough to use it.
