You might want to try putting blue pond dye in it first. I have a 14 acre lake. Cost me about $500 a year. Keeps the sunlight from hitting the bottom and keeps weeds from getting out of control. Helps with fishing as well.

If you know some farmers they have access to a chemical called Valor (flumioxazin) that is used on soybeans and cotton that works pretty good on floating algae mats. Probably need to put a surfactant with it. I assume it is a lot cheaper than the aquatic version.

Appreciate all the comments. We got rain finally yesterday and today and that alone cleaned uo the algae a lot in the pond.

Going to let it ride for now but will take a water sample and make plans for this fall.
