I enjoy mine so far. It doesn't replace a traditional grill IMO so I also purchased the Pit Boss griddle and am very pleased with the combination. I smoke a ton of chicken thighs and ribs and I like not having to nurse the temperature. Reverse searing steaks using the smoker and the griddle with some Ghee butter has changed the way I cook steaks for good.

That sounds cheap.

I have a wood fired pit. Decided to jump off on a pellet grill to see if I liked it. I bought an almost new Pit Boss 820 (I think this is the one) off Craigslist.

Absolutely love it. I have a pretty large covered patio so it doesn't get wet when it rains. I also don't move mine much at all. Legs are a bit suspect and flimsy but the controls/hopper/and pit seem just fine. Not a Rec Tec but gets the job done for us. Done a few briskets, a lot of Tomahawk pork chops, a lot of pork belly burnt ends, fajitas, etc... and really like it. Seems wood pellet efficient... seem to think I have gone 2 8 hour sessions on 1 10lb bag of pellets. I think you are going to really enjoy it.

My big pit has a separate firebox but doing a brisket required too much babysitting of the firebox and with the pellet grill I set it, set a timer, and go back out when the timer goes off to do whatever I need to do. HIGHLY recommend getting a smoke tube if you want a good smoke bark. Never going to match a pit but pretty damn good. Mine came with a smoke tube and I use it just about every time I cook.

The only complaint I had was not enough smoke, so I use a smoke tube now.

For that price, hell yeah.

I bought the Austen XL and for how I cook it was too big for me. You can't heat up part of it like a gas grill when you only want to do two chicken breasts. No complaints other than size.

I have a camp chef. Puts out Smokey meats and smoke rings just like a stick burner

If I had time, I would get a stick burner for the fun of tending the fire. But I ain’t got time so the pellet grill is perfect

Brisket from last weekend. Some of my flat pieces towards the end were dry, but that’s on me not knowing how to trim it perfectly. Smoke flavor was perfect and point and middle of flat was melt in your mouth

My pit boss is a flame thrower. Especially if you cook any kind of burgers or greasy foods on it. I clean it and vacuum it out and still have major issues with fire. The outside of it actually has paint bubbled up and have had flames shooting out the grease drip area and top. I have had it for about 2 years and it still works just have to watch it very closely. Dangerous on our wood porch

Walmart in Dothan, AL. Every grill was 80% off. My brother got a stand up pitboss smoker. My buddy got a blackstone griddle for 40$

That price is not right, unless it was damaged.
