idiotic uh?

What if you cleaned your gun after the range and didn’t load it and you go to use it assuming it’s loaded?

well you see I have two loaded pistols, which are in quick access "safes", and a rifle in my big safe. A few times a week I practice opening the safe grab the pistol check that it is loaded. Then place the pistol back and close it up. So yes I KNOW the guns are loaded.

but loading a mag and chambering a round even in high stress is as easy as it gets to stay safe

if you think so

What is wrong with the Sig 9mm P365? I noticed the downvotes. I got it for my wife and I have thought it is a fine gun. I love shooting it

My wife is a beginner with handguns, she wants one for home protection when she is home alone with our daughter, what size/type do y’all suggest ??

Nothing is wrong with the gun. I have the p365xl and it’s my carry gun.

But why would you recommend a subcompact pistol for home defense. Why not something that is easier to shoot (ie, full size).

If they’re unsecured then sure. But I’m banking on my 7yr old not being able to open my gun safe.

There should be a thread stickied on this board:

"What is the Glock 19 and why do you need one?"

That same argument can be made for bug spray, power tools, bleach or swimming pools.

ALL GUNS ARE LOADED. That's the way they should be treated. Ready gun is ALWAYS loaded/chambered and ready to fire.

You're not one of those folks who thinks a loaded revolver is somehow "safer" than an unloaded semiautomatic pistol are you?

Maybe my kids are just different but I’ve had guns in the house since before they were born. When they were toddlers they were put up. As they got older, it was driven into them that guns are absolutely not to be touched unless they ask me first. Then as the got older they were drilled constantly if they see a gun it’s loaded until they clear it or I clear it.

My kids have been going to the range and shooting with me since they were young. My son (14) got a .22 rifle when he was 3 for his Christmas present.

My daughter (16) has been shooting a gp100, 300blk, and .22 pistols since she was around 7 or 8.

Regardless of what one thinks, kids learn gun safety but only if you teach them.

Has anyone tried the Beretta .32 Tomcat with tip-up barrel?
