Pig Traps

Does anyone have or know anyone with the Pig Brig trap.I’ve done a lot of watching videos and reading about them,seems to work well.
I already have the Boar Buster trap.I had several catches with it in 2019,my largest was 22.The hogs left for several years but recently came back.I caught 10 in it last night.
It works well but it’s a PIA to move.The camera is large,wire runs to a large box with a trolling motor battery and a bunch of wires And then there is a 4x6 solar panel.Had to get a long range antenna mounted on a 20 foot pole to get a reliable signal certain parts of my property.
They now have a much smaller camera with a lithium battery and smaller solar panel,wish I had that now.
The Pig Brig doesn’t use a camera to activate it so I could use it in wooded areas where a solar panel and cell camera probably wouldn’t work.

One word of caution, if you have any bear the Pig Brig is not for you.

Everyone I know with a pig brig trap says they have problems getting friends to answer their phones after a while. Turns out there is a such thing as people getting tired of being given free food.

The pig brig works as advertised. We have been using two of the red river traps. They work well and they are very easy to move and set up.

Buy stock in a zip tie company. You’ll be fixing plenty of holes.
But they work. Easy to set up. I sold a Jager Pro trap plus another gate and bought a Pig Brig. I still run a cell camera on mine to see when I have pigs in it.
If you catch a large boar at night do not wait until the next morning to dispatch. Drive right up to the trap with bright lights. A light bar really helps. The don’t freak out when the can’t see.
One of our hunters has built several corral traps with cellular gates. He tried to use heavy rebar framed gates with expanded metal on them. Large boars blew the gate out of the frame. He replaced with 3/4 plywood and zero problems. They won’t run through what they can’t see through.

The brig is a passive trap, ie it catches whatever walks into/under the net. I know 2 guys with one and they are lukewarm on it, rips, mud gets caked on it, etc. They both also have a Jager Pro MINE trap. One of them has had pigs that wouldn’t walk under the brig net, but he caught them in the JP.
I was one of the first customers of JP, bought my first trap in 2012 and have caught over 1300 pigs on my 400 acre place in SW MS. They invented the technology which many others have attempted to copy. Their products are damn good, they stand behind them and have a very good customer support group.

No bears on my property,at least not yet.
A guy I know lives and hunts in Montgomery area they have a resident bear
on their club,not far from me.
They have a hog problem and can’t trap them because the bear eats their bait as fast as they put it out.
He’s shown me pictures of the bear,I suggested maybe mistake it for a pig and eliminate it.
He’s convinced all the bears have chips and are being monitored by satellites.
No bears on my property,at least not yet.

We have two of the pig brigs and they work as advertised. Couple of tips...don't set it in a mud hole and get the pigs out as quickly as possible once the sun comes up.
