All the force of the pull is going to the first system on the right side. That along with the first pulley is a 2:1 with needs less energy to hoist the load over the 1:1 on the right which requires more energy you have an uneven lift.

May want to try rigging the left side as a 3:1 so it will not need as much force to raise that load. After doing all that two separate systems would be easier.

This will work, but I was talking about having both sides 2:1 with a line across the middle. All the force is going to the right side first, but the middle line should tighten up if both sides weigh the same. If not, it's more of a guessing game as to where to put your bottom pulleys than anything else.

I'm gong to try your diagram drunken. Just gotta grab another pulley. Another thing I need is a better cradle. I tried fabricating one out of para cord and it just slipped all around.

Make sure to get a rope that has as little stretch as possible.

Go to West Marine or some such. You can get all the pulleys/sheaves, etc. plus no-stretch rated halyard. Can even get cam cleats to secure the line in place. Should work like a charm.

I got some strap webbing today, question, do you think i can run it through the scupper holes to have a more secure setup or would i risk warping something or cracking a seam? Should I just wrap it around the entire kayak?

I think that should work sufficiently for you. It will also slightly reduce the amount of force needed to lift it. It may not lift evenly, but once you get it lifted, it should be fairly easy to level and should hold in place.

Yeah not as technical but it fits more snug against the ceiling and is easier to hoist than I expected.

From your last post, it looks like you've finished the project, so as an FYI if anyone else is interested; the pulley system for a kayak is $29.99 at Dicks. I happend to stumble across them.

I will say I like how your process lifts it higher to the ceiling.
