I agree and understand

Signed.

I am part of the reason TOPS got cut. I was getting a nice $1200 check every semester during school due to my SLU scholly and TOPS stipend, and I wasnt the only one getting that. So think how much money that would have been.

They need to drastically raise the threshold for qualifying (which won't happen because its racist ) or just do away with it (which is what I hope happens even though I still have one to put thru college after this one).

Clearly, and just go back to academic schollys. The State can't afford the current system.

As someone who grew up in MS and came to LSU, TOPS blew my mind. No other state in the south that I know of will fund a full ride just for a mediocre score on the ACT.

I never got it so I don't know the numbers but when I started there also weren't almost $1500 in required fees. LSU has stretched that figure out substantially in the last few years from what I understand.

Tree huggers don't care about snapper. the fight is with the commercials, who want to keep the lion's share of a very profitable fish that they sell to restaurants, another industry that likes the status quo.

of course, unlike me, my kid didn't lose her scholly after a freshman year of drunk partying. Thank God.
