But my point is that they didn't need all that gear to begin with, regardless if BP was paying for it or not. This is government corruption at it's highest and people should lose their j...wait...wrong thread. Sorry.

Maybe it's time that a state agency that receives no tax dollars to run itself, is no longer a political prize?
Why not let a commission/committee of agency folks and the folks that FUND the agency decide who runs it. Hunters, fishers, trappers and yes commercial fishers all fund it and are the ones directly affected by the agency.
