Some of those birds are from the day before. We killed 9 yesterday and then 11 today.

We did well. I was shocked how damn tired the dogs were today. It’s cold, but man they were worn down. If we didn’t have my dog(only 1.5 years old) we would have been screwed today. He was stiff this morning but loosened up with youthful energy when he hit the field. I didn’t realize but we need more than 4 dogs to hunt 2 straight days like that

Until you travel and hunt, you just don’t realize how much dog power is needed. You aren’t getting much output from out of shape dogs. The feet are always the first thing to go.

In October we hunted Wisconsin and North Dakota on a 11 day hunt and did our best to rotate and limit miles a day to have dog power through the entire trip

We do waterfowl in Saskatchewan and minimum of 2 retrievers especially if hunting sloughs and marshes. Limit is 8 ducks per so it adds up quick. Field hunts are easier but still 8 dark and 20 white geese so that adds up. Hounds are steps savers

I was blown away. My dog ran 31 miles day 1

On multiple day hunts we try to limit them to 20 miles a day

First pheasant hunt last month in South Dakota.
I have never really bird hunted before.
However, I shot like I had been doing it all my life.
Great fun.
To quote the outfitter,
"Bead On!"

Will do it again next year.
