I know what holla means. I also know what holler (screaming) and hollow (empty) means. But I seriously don't know another meaning. Nobody I grew up around ever used the term for anything other than the above.

It used to drive me crazy when I worked there. It's called Academy Sports & Outdoors...so Academy Sports = Correct. Sports Academy = incorrect

I equate it to a slough or a low spot or natural depression between two ridges. Could be wrong though.

maybe it's a Mississippi thing, but holler is a common used word around the house. my gramps has been talkin about the hollers and hills since i was shittin yella
