When I lived in Mississippi every one said yonder. I remember asking my dad where is yonder.

And it usually gets thrown in with directions. Taking directions from a mississippi country person is very confusing. Example-Well you are going to want to take a right up there yonder by the big red building, then take a left by the church up on the hill, then take a right by the big oak tree.... No damn street names are used or what I would consider good landmarks.

My dad sold his beagles to him recently. That dude is not someone I want to meet in an ally. He's got super human grip in his hands.

Has anyone ever tested some theories or saying before? Like the one saying if the cows are laying down the fish aren't biting?

My dad always said that if the cows are laying down, so are the deer, but I doubt this is true...

wind out of the east, they bite the least.
wind out of the west, they bite the best..
I agree..

Y'all have probly heard this or something similar in the past, but, about 40 years ago, I was fishing with an old codger and it was about 4 o'clock PM and we just caught our first bass. We had been fishing since about daylight!! I asked him if he thought the fish would turn on and start biting.. His response was :: they'll probably bite about the same and then about dusk, will shut down completely... I nearly fell out of the boat laughing so hard..
