Any suggestions? Planning a bachelor trip between now and August and looking for the best time of year to set it up.
Guide recs in Venice/Delacroix/Hopedale welcome also, prefer Venice for houseboat rental options. Thanks!

April and May for alligator gar. I bowfish a lot and only go for big gar. I average around 15 fish a year over 6 and a half foot, and April and May I get at least half of them.

Bowfishing Unlimited is perfect for bachelor parties. They are located in Port Sulphur and have waterfront lodging. You don’t have to drive to a boat launch to either. February and March are the best months.

Midnight Blue is awesome. Nick is the man. Every month is good for bowfishing, its just different conditions you will deal with. Winter months usually have cleaner water and fish bunched up. Summer is usually higher tides and murky water but the fish are more consistent. The good thing about august is there isnt alot of wind usually and you dont have to worry about a cold front ruining your trip.

Thanks for all the replies, considering doubling up on the fun and doing it on the weekend of the rodeo - think we could still get on some reds that time of year down that way?
