One More Shot at Snapper

LWF announced today that the next two weekends (4 days each) will reopen for recreational red snapper fishing. Was really hoping they would string it out into September when it gets cooler, and the people and the sharks start to go away. Guess we take what we can get.

I get Labor Day. But give us a few days in October also. Help the businesses in coastal area that see a big drop off from the summer time crowd too

They are thick here now and Im loving it. You have to get out there in 100-150 which is a ways for us but its worth it. We get on a nice ARS hole and put the chum block out while we are dealing with the ARS and sharks. Then once we get out limit, we start free lining a small piece of squid on a yellow tail jig and its on.

We aren't seeing them out of Pensacola/Navarre to my knowledge. Went to the reefs today and Mingo was the star of the show now that ARS is out of season.

Most of our vermilions are small here. I just dont get deep enough to get the big ones.
I just got back from the ramp. Had a charter this morning and had to reschedule. Big weather change over night so we are going tomorrow. Most of my customers are vacation people and you rarely get to reschedule these charters. Fortunately they had the day and so did I.
