I just looked that up on google maps. Must be amazing deer land, especially for management purposes.

I go to Raccourci every now and then. Some huge deer and full of big hogs. Would love to get in a club over that way

Same here. My parents are members of Old Miss Hunting Club now. Pretty much right across the river from RI.
My grandparents were among the first members of ORHC.

I was a menber in OMHC for many years. We still have a camp there. Deer hunting was spotty, but you would kill a few good deer. They they started working with WL&F. Deer heard grew. After a few years it got real good, the high water screwed that up. Then the land owners logged the shite out of the place. That in fact help the deer.

OMHC is always looking for members. Fees are around $1350 a year. Problem is that the older members have things to were they have the hot spots for hunting as in any club.

I have a camp on Old River, but have never hunted Racourrci Island. I hear they have a lot of hermaphrodite deer. They do kill a lot of good deer there, but the high river levels affect them a good bit, so it's not like Giles Island for management purposes.

My dad had the opportunity to buy 300 acres there for $500 an acre back in 2000. He's still pissed he didn't do it.

Natalbany. I have been a member of ORHC for 20 years. They are starting to kill a few really good deer every year. We have been shooting 6 point or better for about 8 years now this seems to help let some of the younger deer grow up. The high water gets us pretty often. The loggers have been cutting timber pretty hard the last few years.

The membership is 1250$.

My dad has been a member since 90 and still is. I grew up hunting there and it was great, but haven't been back in several years. Jughead our camp is right past the gate past the ten point camp, sound familiar?

The best way to get in ORHC is get recommended by a current member. Most of the time they have 5-10 openings each year. Members kids get first shot a new memberships then it goes to member recommendations.

A membership includes you, your wife and any kids under the age of 18.
