Has anybody had any experience with this? Which charter service did you use? Did you go out of Belize City?

I went out of San Pedro which is an island off the coast of Belize. Don’t know if that helps you.

Belize City

you will not want to spend any time in belize city other than landing and taking off. as beautiful as coastal belize is, belize city is just that awful

as far as fishing goes, you can charter inside or outside the reef...inside will smaller fish like yellowtail snapper/etc. outside the reef is "offshore" but be advised it is usually pretty rough, so take your dramamine if you typically get seasick

Did you have any luck off shore? Which charter did you use?

My recommendation- fish inshore for tarpon and /or bonefish.

Offshore is just as good or better in Venice, LA.

Just my opinion.

Would recommend El Pescador in San Pedro.... they specialize in bonefish/tarpon/permit but they may do offshore. Their experience is fantastic though.

Caught some bonefish off of the beaches in San Pedro in the evening. Did some reef fishing trips and caught snapper all day long. It was a blast. As others have said, the offshore trips around Venice are better.

In March 12-16th in 2016... it was a beautiful area and experience. The rooms are nice/clean, situated right on the shore. We had the best guide who taught us the ins and outs of fly fishing... making it very easy to pick up. Hell it was my first time fly fishing and I caught many bonefish. It was different and fun.

We went with Hardcore fishing out if Placencia two years in a row.
Great time. Reasonable rates can do Two man trips up to 6 . Great reef fishing.
The Westbys are great people.

Do not do this! Nicaragua isn’t a place for gringos presently.

We did a couple full days it was great. The guide takes you out till a certain time I think it’s like 4 or something, then you pay a little extra if you wanna stay longer.

Had a friend that fished there for a stretch. He said the sailfishing was unreal. 20-30 in a day.
