I wouldnt go as far as to say he is a cheater because of that.
I saw him in one MLF event reel in a bass through some grass, when it was on the side of the boat he lifted it up and set it down on the deck of the boat covered in grass. When the ref said it was a fishing violation and he got a penalty he basically said he didnt even think about it. Wasnt even thinking about a penalty.
Probably just messing with his bait out of habit, like setting the fish on the deck of the boat.

I didn't mean it maliciously. Though not my favorite I like him. It was the referee's fault for not telling him to stop. Being he is probably the GOAT I wonder if that intimidates some of the officials?

I can see that being the case. I dont know what the qualifications to be a ref in the boat with them are, but I would assume they are pretty much regular guys. I would be itching to just ask a million questions through the day. They would probably ask to have me replaced haha.

Yea it is kind of shitty that the refs are so different though. One yesterday got a landing penalty was told he couldn't touch his rod. Asked if he could get some water and the refs response was just "no".
