if you look at the left of the carrier, it appears that it routes the gas out of those ports and down into the magwell so maybe it's minimal?
KAK Industries came out with a bolt carrier like that 6 months ago, what makes this one special?

i don't really have an answer for other than it's just a different way to direct the gasses. they claim it's quieter at the shooters ear this way. i wouldn't know one way or the other.
and patents and all that.

Have any of you tried these Die Free grips? You won’t believe how much comfortable they are for the short weapons systems.

That's interesting. Is the angle still comfortable at full length stock extension?

mine is on a lower with a honey badger (SB Tactical) brace and it only extends so far.
Caleb, from Brownells, mentions in his video that even a fully extended standard stock, it feels better than a typical A2 style grip.
the Kung Fu grip is 12 degrees. most standard grips seem to use 25 degrees.

They're only $20 and Primary Arms has a grip plug for $10. I may have to get one and try it out.

that's what i paid at a LGS

I just put one on a 300 blk pistol. I don’t like it was much as the reptilia I use on almost every other AR I have but it’s better than just about everything else I’ve tried. It’s ugly af tho.
Side note - I bought a 10” 300 blk barrel from B. Kings and it’s pretty nice for $70. I think it’s just a Ballistic Advantage barrel and I’ve only put 160 rounds through it…all of which were AAC Vmax. It cycled well, was more gentle than I expected which probably means it won’t cycle subs without a suppressor. I don’t ever plan on suppressing it so I’m not worried about that. It has a red dot and isn’t meant for long distance anything but was about 2 moa at 50 yards with the AAC stuff.

for those of you that want to make a Honey Badger clone, AR15discounts.com has the Faxon 1:5 twist barrels on sale:
6" Barrel - $99
7.5" Barrel - $170
usually, you can find them for the same price.

Building out one of the the Wilson Billet sets that I bought last year when they were on sale.
Building it using Wilson components. The handguard is a Wilson handguard and I have to say, I’m not a fan. Hard to get the bolt timed properly that lines up the top picatinny rail.
Plenty of other better produces out there.
ETA: they do not ship a wrench that fits the nut either.

I have a V Seven on a 308 that’s great…but timing it is a pain. I’ll never buy another rail that needs to be timed again.

Yes, I meant barrel nut.
It came with a single shim. Just a bad design.

Can I interest you in a VLTOR CASV handguard?
Here’s one in a fictional Space Force MK18 (not mine / found on Reddit):
Delta ring barrel nut is all that’s needed. And your suppressor will tuck right inside of it.
I have the midlength version, but they do have a carbine length with an fsb cutout if that’s your jam.
Apparently, this company goes back to the early 2000s. They had government contracts with Delta… I think. Might’ve been the Navy… can’t remember.

Don’t worry about the top rail no extending to the end. They used to sell a front iron sight that would bolt to the handguard that would align with the rear sight. They include a shirt Picatinny section to put there now.

That's a new one to me.
Not Vltor, I know them well and have several of their products, but that hand guard.
Not sure how I'd like that one. Looks like it could be heavy (this gun is going to be very light).

CASV is an OG handguard. Heavy as shite. Something like this. Stupid grip pod, magpul m93, etc...
Check out that selector.

Got the Wilson set built. Used mostly Wilson components with it.
Not shot it yet but will soon. But this gun is very light. Put a Holosun AEMS green dot on it (was on sale at Primary Arms for $250).
Without silencer it's 6.75lbs. Probably the lightest AR I have. If I can get it to group well, I may be switching the thermal over to this gun from my Radian. Will upgrade trigger if I do that though to a Trigger Tech.

That looks like someone dipped it in exterior latex paint.

You sold me on it and just ordered one from primary arms. Can't wait to try it out.

Anybody have experience with BCM 300 BLK Uppers? Thinking of pairing with Aero lower and making this my first SBR.
