Dumb question, but do I need any tools or anything to put an SBA3 on a milspec diameter tube? Can I just slip it on like a stock?

Anyone know what this part is? Found it in my lower when I popped the upper off. It was tucked in the rear cavity above the grip. I built this thing and I’ll be damned if I remember what this part is.

Is it a metal, a polymer or rubber?

Metal. It's square/rectangular and looks almost like a mini version of a keyway for a crank gear in an engine.

I've been looking at diagrams, MBT-2S pics, etc and can't figure out wtf it is.

I've got nothing. What kind of trigger do you have in it?

Not part of the BCG, safety, any 3 piece trigger that I've seen.

does any part look like it's broken?

MBT-2S trigger
Other things in the area: normal lower parts kit, Fail Zero BCG, Aero upper, lower and charge handle.

Not that i can find. I pulled it apart to open up the gas port and just a general deep clean and found it. It's bizarre.

Those are nylon. But I like the way you’re thinking.

Just a wild guess, is your bolt catch intact?

Are all your bolt lugs ok?

Good call. I’ll break it down tomorrow and see.

Does look like a bolt lug but you would think it would show signs on the surface of being broken.

It doesn’t present as a piece that have a stress break or any other failure. It looks like a machined keyway.

I’ll pull the bcg out tomorrow and have a look and be thoroughly embarrassed if I missed that.

Might you put a couple of coins beside it in the picture for comparison's sake ... a quarter and a dime? Or even take a picture of it measured with calipers?

It almost looks like maybe .... I dunno, mag release related? I can take'em apart and put'em back together blindfolded down to every little spring and pin but that piece, in your picture, is not ringing a bell.
