I'm not a huge fan of single points, especially for normal range use and hunting or self defense. But it's not gonna hurt to throw it on there just in case.

I don't think I'll like a single-point sling, either, but you don't know until you do, right?

Get a Magpul MS4, Blue Force 221, or Haley Strategic D3. They are all 1 and 2 point convertible and very high quality.

I would get one that has the qd socket.

I don't really like the little magpul clips. I think their new sling uses the sockets.

So you have a moacks tool? Or how are you planning on staking it?

As far as 1 point vs 2 point, I've never run mine as a single point. The rifle just flops around as a single point, not very comfortable. I use it as a 2 point only.

QD is the way to go with slings. I have the Ms4 and only run it as a single point when walking in thick brush in the woods or climbing up my stand. Otherwise it stays 2 point.

No.

I was planning on using an automatic center punch, following the guides on youtube - either the budget (General Tools) or higher end (Starrett 18A - or equivalent).

I'm not married to that route, though. I see where guys have made custom, square ended punches for just this purpose.

Honestly, I don't know what a moacks tool is.

Had a brain fast talking about staking.

Moacks tool is what is used to stake the carrier key screws.

It won't take much to stake the castle nut. Id make my own before I bought one.

Just ordered the Griffin Optimus from Silencer Shop

Backordered, so Lord knows when I will get this thing in

Figured if I didn't do it now, I would never do it with the new executive order making it such a pain for our trust

The MAC review sold me on it.

It was a good review. I would have gone SiCo hybrid but the Optimus is awesome.

My buddy in the trust having a Griffen can and having a rifle set up for it already was also a contributing factor.

Is the Hybrid the one that doesn't do .22LR but goes to .45ACP?

I am thinking about getting in to the AR game, but I am fairly new to it all. I have done a some research and I like the idea of a more customized gun rather than an entry level AR. I was looking into getting this setup.

PSA Lower
Aero Precision Upper
BCG Forward assist
Charging handle

Any advice or pros and cons of the items I listed is greatly appreciated.

Hybrid goes up to .338lm but is sealed so no use on rimfire.

That all looks good. Make sure on the Aero upper, you go with keymod or mlok. Also, you could tack on a few dollars and buy an ALG ACT trigger which is a great yet cheap upgrade.

Just curious, why no quad rail? Any other uppers you would suggest? I am open to other options.

VTAC is my go to sling. I love their 2 point attachment. Their quick adjust straps are just smooth as hell and breeze to fit and wear.

Quad rails are cheese graters and will destroy your hand. Also, they are thicker. Keymod and MLOK are direct attach, thinner, and smooth so they won't hurt. Check BCM as well for uppers. Aero is a great company though so there is no issue with the one you listed.

Yea, the rimfire element was also a deciding factor for me.
