I have a 12v. dewalt impact driver and a 18v. milwaukee driver and drill. The dewalt handles 80% of what I need to do and because of its light weight I can use it with one hand.
I also bought a Milwaukee reciprocating saw because of its one handed operation. I use it at least once a week for home duties. I even use to clean deer.

new 12.0 m18 battery
Only $200, which is not that bad considering the 9.0 is $170 and the 5.0s are like $130

I have a 20V impact that can deliver 8,400 in-lbs of torque
No you don't, unless you're talking about a wrench and not a driver, but those are rated in ft-lbs and you'd need some kind of chuck adapter to drill with it.
Milwaukee makes the most powerful impact driver I've seen at 1800 in-lbs. You have one almost 5x more powerful?
