Is that considered littering?

Yes. But, I can attest to having a hard time finding yellow shells thrown from a bottom ejecting Browning. It's only trashy if you don't try to locate them.

Yes it's littering and trashy as frick but it doesn't stop birds from decoying. Johnny Wink has a pit that I don't think has had a hull picked up in decades and he smokes them in Jones.

I had a bad experience at Johnny Winks the one time we hired him.

Will not use him again. I thought his place trashy, his mouth big and found him generally lazy. It does not surprise me at all that he hasn't cleaned around his pit in years.

I can't dispute any of that although I think he is religious now so maybe his mouth isn't quite so large these days.

Is wink hunting jones more or is his better stuff now down towards Bonita and mer rouge? Seems like he's concentrating more on specks than ducks these days.

Honestly I have no clue. I used to have a lease up by his place near Jones. The pit with the gazillion hulls has always been one of his best spots.

I think that whole area is really hit or miss, especially in a dry year like this one. Got a buddy close to Kilbourne that has been killing a few here and there. Heard the stuff over at Dansby's is also slow. Just not enough water to hold them.

I agree. I had 3 customers with me and one of them is 1/2 Mexican and he told a bad Mexican joke. Didn't hurt me at all but after they left I had words with him and told him what I thought.

To me yes, and I had no one to tell me that at a young age.
I've always felt, you leave it as nice or better than you found it.
I pick up trash in the woods and use my net to scoop floaters
in the water when coming in.

I would say yes, but for my last two leases, it also violated the terms. Both were rice fields and I can completely understand. I can imagine that the hulls can be troublesome for the rice harvesting equipment.

Yeah it's trashy as hell. Been on some good dove hunts that farmers let us hunt and I make sure to pick up all the hulls. Others with me thought it was fine to leave them there

My question is for public land. Is it illegal? Can you get s ticket for not picking up your hulls? If td not a law, it should be

i think it is. shot gun shells are a small part of the problem on public land though. I see piles of beer cans and little debbies boxes all over the place. seems to be a littering problem in general.

heck one of the woodcock mafia king pins tried to lose me in IB because I left a shell on ground...

seriously though - I pick mine up when hunting public land - as to not give away exact locations to the shot scouters...

pick up as many as I can on our lease - but I don't shoot much.

it's surprising how far away from the roads i have seen them. Depends on the WMA. West bay has so many access roads that it's harder to get away from it.

i've killed plenty of deer near roads on a wma btw.
