first off, i know very little about gun laws, and not a whole lot about guns in general, but after 30 minutes of searching the net, i thought id come to the OT with my question re:
in the great state of:
lol. anyway, question is: are serbu super shortys, classified as "AOW's" under the NFA, permissible for private use in our state?
if so, what would a an average citizen like me, i.e., no criminal record, but also no firearm permits, have to do in order to get one. from the little reading i've done, it appears that i would have to do alot to get one. so, thanks in advance.

Only need a permit to carry a concealed weapon. For sawed offs I think there is an 18 in minimum.

Class 3 weapons and concealed carry permits are two totally different beasts but yes LA is a NFA friendly state, you just have to register with the ATF and get a tax stamp for each weapon/suppressor
There are a few different ways to get your stamp but the most common is to fill out the appropriate forms, get the local sheriff to fill out a form, have your finger prints taken, and get a passport picture of yourself...once all that is done you send the packet and a $5 check for AOWS (or a $200 check for SBRs SBSs MGs and suppressors etc) and wait about 3-6 months
mind you this all has to be done after you order the gun through a class three dealer, once he gets the gun and knows the serial number all forms can be sent and the wait for the stamp begins... but be careful stamp collecting is addictive
